Las Aletas (The Little Wings), an auxiliary of Assistance League of Santa Barbara, was formed in 1964 for the daughters and daughters-in-law of Assistance League members, but soon opened the membership to all interested women. Over fifty members volunteer their time and talent to three philanthropic programs and a major fundraiser:

Operation School Bell®-Goleta provides school clothing for students in the Goleta Union School District,
Kids on the Block puppet shows entertain and educate children about bullying and safety, and
Operation Bookshelf provides reading and audio materials for patrons who are unable to leave their homes.
An annual fundraiser helps fund the programs.
In addition, Las Aletas members assist with chapter fund raisers, philanthropic programs, and Thrift Shop staffing.
Las Aletas welcomes members from all walks of life who have an interest in volunteering at least 45 hours per year to our philanthropic programs and fundraising activities. Our mission is to develop and implement programs to benefit children and adults in Santa Barbara County. For more information, please email Las Aletas Membership at
